Choice. It's American. Doesn't it make sense that you should be able to choose your energy provider?

And thanks to retail energy choice, now you can.

When states began opening up their energy markets to competition it allowed companies like North American Power to buy energy in the wholesale markets and pass the potential savings onto you.

The electricity we purchase flows into the same "energy pool" that your utility sources its electric from. Your utility then delivers the electricity to your home or business via existing power lines just as it always has.

Your utility agrees to work with us because deregulation mandates that it cannot profit from the Generation portion of your bill. Your utility is a delivery company and we are a supply company. Best of all, your utility has agreed to combined billing so that you still receive just one utility bill each month.

Currently, utilities in 23 states deliver newly deregulated energy to millions of customers who are enjoying energy freedom each year on the same exact electricity as customers who have not chosen to lower their rate with a company like North American Power.

You may be wondering:

Q: Why can't my utility simply lower their Supply rates?

A: Your utility enters into long-term fixed-rate contracts to help protect customers from changes in generation costs, but they pay a premium for the decreased risk.

Q: Will my utility lose money?

A: No. As part of deregulation, your utility does not take a profit on the supply portion of your bill. It only purchases electricity for its customers that do not choose an electric supplier like North American Power.
